S-PLANE’s X-SERIES represents the state-of-the-art in avionics and automation solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft. The NX-SERIES is the Small Form Factor (SFF) extension of this product family, catering for Size Weight and Power (SWaP) sensitive systems. Reliability, functionality, flexibility and certifiability are all key design elements carried across to the NX-SERIES architecture. The result is a set of subsystems able to accommodate the strict physical and electrical requirements of SWaP sensitive aerospace sub-systems, while continuing to provide the latest in technology and functionality, responsibly and reliably.

The NX-FCU is used for functions such as flight automation, fly-by-wire computing, and remote piloting. It can be supplied as complete flight automation appliances (including flight software) or as target hardware with Board Support Packages (for PikeOS and real-time Linux).

Specifically aimed at meeting strict certification requirements, the NX-FCU is ideally suited to modern manned and unmanned aircraft for both civil and military applications. It is a fully redundant flight control unit, capable of operation in COM/MON configurations and supporting dual and triple modular redundancy with voting. It includes optional instrumentation/sensors and communication links (incl. rugged MANET radios) integrated into a certification-ready and compact package varying from around 1.0 to 1.8 kg (option dependent). The NX-FCU is unique in terms of its class-leading processing power (incl. data storage and memory capacity) and wide range of interface ports. It also boasts a state-of-the-art selection of internal devices to meet the needs of individual customers.
