Applications

MANNED ISR AIRCRAFT

S-PLANE’s Payload Management, Communication and Ground Control Solutions, combined with suitable ISR Mission sensor payloads, create powerful manned airborne ISR systems. This extends to traditional Part 25 and Part 29 aircraft operations with onboard and remote ISR operator stations, as well as to more affordable Part 23 and Part 27 aircraft where ground control stations are specially optimised to perform remote control of onboard ISR sensors.

S-PLANE’s manned airborne ISR aircraft solutions are built around its high-performance X-ADT ISR mission computer. The X-ADT handles ISR payload management and control, onboard computing, I/O concentration, data stream storage, SDI video capture, communications management, encryption, video transcoding, and Ethernet switching all in one compact solution. Designed and qualified according to RTCA DO-160, the X-ADT is engineered for the most demanding airborne environments. Manned airborne ISR systems are supported by various communication options including S-PLANE’s TRACKER+ with ultra-long-range redundant LOSCOM, and BVLOS via SATCOM, ensuring reliable connectivity across various operational environments.

S-PLANE’s ParagonISR is our state-of-the art solution for aircraft-onboard and remote control, management and data fusion of ISR Missions sensors. ParagonISR integrates seamlessly with ParagonC2 and various 3rd party software solutions to provide unrivalled situational awareness and mission coordination capabilities for manned and unmanned airborne ISR systems. It was built on the principles of STANAG 4586 for interoperability with civil and military ISR systems. ParagonISR offers reduced payload operator workload with exceptional payload integration, standardised user interfaces, improved target tracking and more functional automation where you need it most. No more context switching between payloads and no more nested payload menus. Operators keep their eyes on target and communicate effectively when it matters the most.

S-PLANE’s TRACKER+ is stand-alone GNSS-based antenna tracker and environmentally controlled radio enclosure. It can carry multiple high-powered, long-range datalinks while enabling seamless Line of Sight Communication (LOSCom) between aircraft and ground control stations. With its ability to dissipate 800W of radio heat and qualification to RTCA DO-380 environmental specifications it ensures dependable operation of long-distance radio links even in challenging environments. With MIMO mesh network radios, the TRACKER+ supports the creation of reliable and flexible communication architectures across various environments. Multiple units can be networked to extend coverage over large operational areas.

As a bonus, Manned ISR installations are ready for quick conversion to Optionally Piloted or Unmanned aircraft System status by upgrading and adding S-PLANE’s X-KIT automation equipment and without re-engineering systems and architectures already put in place for the Manned ISR aircraft. Maximum re-use of equipment and architectures means that your investment is easily upgradable at the lowest possible cost and in the shortest possible time.
